My dear members,
I hope everyone is enjoying the summer and getting plenty of golf in! The course has been incredibly busy lately, with over 300 rounds played on some days — it’s fantastic to see so many of you out there making the most of it.
Meistaramót has come and gone, and let’s be honest — many of us didn’t play our best (myself included!). But as always, we dust ourselves off and look forward to the next round. Congratulations to all our winners — well played!
A huge „thank you“ goes out to our brilliant staff for their exceptional work during Meistaramót. From early mornings to late shifts, they made sure the course looked and played its absolute best. Their commitment doesn’t go unnoticed, and we’re lucky to have them.
Course Maintenance Updates
This week, we’ll be doing a bit of essential work on the greens. We’ll be aerating (punching small holes) to relieve compaction and improve airflow, followed by a light sanding. This keeps the greens healthy and smooth in the long run.
The new tee box on the 4th hole will be getting a well-earned rest. We pushed it hard to get it ready in time for the Meistaramót, and now it needs a bit of recovery.
As for the area next to the 7th tee box — we’re nearly there! We’re just waiting on the digger driver’s return, and then we’ll turf the area to finish it off properly. It should be looking sharp very soon.

Looking Ahead – The Shootout
Next up on the calendar is the Shootout — and it’ll be my first one here, so I’m especially excited.
I’ve always believed a course should be well-defined: fairways, approaches, greens, and roughs should all have their place. To that end, we’re trialing new blades on the rough mower that help stand the grass up a bit more, rather than simply rolling it over. Over the next three weeks, we’ll also let the rough grow a little more and cut it at a higher height — all in the spirit of making things just a bit more challenging for the Shootout.
As always, thank you all for your support and enthusiasm. I hope you’re enjoying the course as much as we enjoy preparing it for you.
Kind regards,
Stuart
